Nala & Mindy
These are my two precious cats, Nala and Mindy. They are Bengals, a breed that is originally descended from the wild Asian Leopard Cat. Nala and Mindy are sisters and I've had them since they were three months old. They will be eleven years old this July. I was really allergic to them at first, but thanks to daily Zyrtec and a buildup of immunity things are a lot better now.
Nala is the lighter-colored one. With her dark spots on orange background, she looks sort of like a little leopard. I named her Nala after the character in The Lion King (Simba's childhood friend and later romantic interest). She is quite adventurous, once pretending to be Indiana Jones and escaping down a 7 foot shaft. She needed to be rescued with a long piece of carpet remnant. She also has a peculiar habit of sunbathing beneath a particular lamp. She will literally sit for hours with her head right underneath a 100-watt bulb.
Mindy is the darker-colored one. The day I brought her home, I looked at her and just decided she looked like a 'Mindy'. She is very mellow and affectionate. She definitely loves to eat and has the figure to prove it. One of her favorite things to do is to plop over on her back to get her belly rubbed. She also likes to keep you company in the kitchen, and to watch the birds outside.
Both cats snore, especially Nala. The first time I heard it, it was pretty startling.
